pregnancy, birth and motherhood support

Working with you and your family no matter what season of motherhood you are navigating.

I’m in awe of what our bodies can do. Not just in pregnancy and birth but in life; body, heart and mind.

I believe in you and I believe you deserve every chance to have the birth that you dream of.

Everyone deserves epic support in the form of continuity of care during their pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience.

I believe that you and your rights matter and with support and practice you will be able to confidently advocate for your needs and wants.

You are here because you are about to go on one of life’s great transitions or you have just transformed.

Becoming a mother, a parent is big stuff. Huge. We all come to it with our own stories, wants, needs, fears and hopes.

Together, on your unique journey, I will hear, hold and see you. Building an understanding of what you want your path to look and feel like.

Loads (and loads) of care and a tailored mix of preparation and information for you.

Why work with a doula?

In recent years, more people are discovering the benefits of working with a doula during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Backed by research, doulas provide invaluable physical, emotional, and informational support, leading to improved birth outcomes, higher satisfaction rates, and a smoother transition into parenthood. Here, we explore the evidence-based advantages of having a doula by your side and the impact they can make throughout your journey.

Studies consistently show that the presence of a doula leads to better outcomes for both mother and baby. According to a review published in The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, continuous support during labour, like that provided by a doula, results in:

  • Lower Risk of Caesarean Section: Women supported by a doula are 39% less likely to have a caesarean birth.

  • Reduced Use of Pain Relief: Doulas contribute to a 10% reduction in the use of pain medications during labour.

  • Shorter Labour Times: Continuous support can reduce the length of labour, leading to a more comfortable experience.

  • Increased Satisfaction with the Birth Experience: Families report feeling more in control, respected, and satisfied when a doula is present.

  • Better Postpartum Adjustment: Mothers report feeling more confident and supported in the postpartum period.
